Sid: Well my guest has one of the fastest growing ministries in the country in which he teaches Hebrew roots but the thing that’s so amazing is his original breakthrough supernaturally came from an angelic visitation. He was raised Catholic; he wasn’t overly charismatic growing up, however after he started teaching on understanding, he calls it the first part of the book, or is known as the Old Covenant. After he started teaching and understanding this all of a sudden miracles started breaking out. Jim Staley tell me about one of the first interesting miracles that occurred.

Jim: Wow there’s so many that we could go through but I mean everything from there’s a Christian worship artist. This was in the last year and a half he’s called the Chris Tomlin of Russia. We have a very robust Russian U-tube channel, we have 30 – 40 Russians a month that are watching and he was one of them. He travels all over the world and does his artistry and singing and so on and so forth; and he began to start to learn the Christian roots of his faith; where the roots of his Christianity came from. Which is from the Hebrew perspective, and so when he did that he had never seen miracles before. But he was so impacted by this he flew halfway across the world to come meet me; he doesn’t even speak English; and he went back there and this is not a physical miracle but an incredible miracles non-the-less. He quit his job; went on full time missionary support and he is now planting churches all over the Baltic states; Russia itself you name it and he led one of the highest Bishops in the Russian Orthodox Church; the highest of all Bishops he led that person to completely surrender his life to Christ. And that person has stepped down from their position and travels the world teaching people the Christian roots of their faith. So the entire Russian Orthodox Church now has someone that’s traveling around the world teaching them the front of the book and how it relates to Jesus who is found in the back of the book.

Sid: And when I think of a particular group of Christians that are known for anti-Semitism that’s the group. (Laughing) Which makes it even more phenomenal.

Jim: Yeah.

Sid: Okay, tell me in your opinion one of the more unique miracles that have occurred because there’s just so many that are happening. I’ll tell you what tell me about the woman that had the tumor the size of a cantaloupe.

Jim: Yeah, you know this is an interesting story. She had… they were just traditional Christians and did their regular church and so on and so forth just going on with their life and she had this very large issue in her throat. She had to go in for surgery for it and right before that, 2 weeks before that, they came into the understanding of the Christian roots of their faith and began to read the Bible from a different perspective and it caused them to repent over a few things. And they made some changes in their life and in their family and just like all the times in the Old Testament where God’s people realized they were in sin they came back into Covenant and God began to bless them again. Well what happened was she went in for this surgery, the doctor said “You’re probably going to lose your vocal chords you’re never going to be able to speak again.” Of course that’s a very difficult thing for a family to deal with the husband lost his job. The wife had lost the children in a divorce preceding and so it was just a really really bad time in their life. After they made this confession that “God we’ve been out of Covenant we’ve made some changes were going to do this, we’re going to do that the way that you asked us to we’re going to do our best.” Within 2 weeks she came out of that surgery talking when the doctor said “That’s impossible that this has happened;” she was completely healed; the husband got his job back within a week and they got the children back from the court system within a week after that. All of this just within a 2 ½ week period of time, and that was an amazing story itself.

Sid: What happened to the tumor the size of a cantaloupe?

Jim: Completely gone.

Sid: How long did that take?

Jim: It was instant; I mean it was all in that 2 week period of time.

Sid: Hm. Tell me about the man that had back problems; disc problems and started doing cartwheels.

Jim: Absolutely I was walking through the office and he’s my shipping director and I just walked in there to say hi and he couldn’t get off of his chair he was almost like completely paralyzed he could hardly walk at all; he was in severe pain and I just said “Can I pray for you?” And I prayed for him just a little short prayer and started to walk out of the office and he said “Wait a minute I’ve got a fire running through my body.” And I’ve never heard of that before and so I turned around and he said “Oh, my goodness I’m healed.” And I said “What are you talking about?” And he began to do squats and then he came on stage the next day and did a cartwheel in front of everybody that his disc problem was just completely healed.

Sid: Now something that very very few of those that are listening to us right now understand and you brought it up yesterday and you call it Hebrew idioms. What is an idioms?

Jim: An idiom is and expression that’s known in that particular culture and if you don’t understand that particular culture and that language you’re not going to know that idiom is. For instance, when the Bible talks about a good eye and a bad eye in Matthew. Well a lot of people have preached that message as looking, or pornography or you know looking from the eye. But that’s not what it meant in the first century. A good eye was somebody that was very generous; a bad eye was somebody that was not generous that was stingy. And that’s why the context there says that you can’t serve both God and mammon; because the whole context is about money. And so understanding those Hebrew idioms are critical to really pulling the real meaning to the scripture.

Sid: Well I imagine a lot of people have their theology off because if they look at it literal and just as a matter of speech of that day they’d have no way of knowing unless someone had told them they’d get their whole paradigms wrong.

Jim: Oh, no doubt about it; just think of all the different ways that we speak to one another today that if you could parcel out and put it 2000 years from now people would think they were crazy if we told each other “I would die for that.” Well we didn’t really mean that we would die for that it’s an expression. And unless you understand what it means in that culture you’re going to take it literally and misunderstand that we’ve done that. And when you do it just one time it could infect an entire doctrine. And people live their life by what they believe. So it’s critical to understand the context.

Sid: Now, I’m very excited about this series that you’re making available. It’s 4 DVD’s called “Shalom In the Home.” Briefly, what will this accomplish for someone that listens to it and views it?

Jim: First of all, this will be something that they most likely that they’ve never heard before because I’m going to show them in the scriptures not just idiomatic Hebrew idioms that are completely misunderstood in traditional Christianity. But I’m going to pull up the tabernacle itself and I’m going to show the Ark of the Covenant and I’m going to show the mercy seat. And I’m going to go back to the original Hebrew language and I’m going to show you that just the Mercy Seat and Ark of the Covenant how it’s in male and female forms in the original word language and show that the roles of husband and wife can actually be shown from the Ark of the Covenant itself from the original language and the Mercy Seat and even what’s found in the Ark of the Covenant actually dictates the role of the husband. It’s amazing and that’s just within marriage but there are so many other things that we pull up through the scriptures from the original language that show these amazing ancient keys to success. And when we do what the Bible says to do from its original perspective oh, my goodness it really is a formula it’s A + B = C.

Sid: Now do you believe that we know as a fact Jewish people are under unusual favor of God; the highest percentage by religion of Nobel Prize winners, people that are the leaders in art, entertainment, science, law, business, doctors, lawyers… I mean all these people these Jewish people such high percentage I happen to believe it’s because unbeknownst to many of them they’re following these ancient relationship formula’s from the scriptures.

Jim: There’s no doubt about it one of the best stories I love to tell the friend of mine has a Jewish CPA and he walks into his Jewish CPA’s office one day to get his tax return done and he asked this CPA “You know I got a question for you. You do both Christian people and Jewish people tax return right?” And he said, “Absolutely.” And he said “Who makes more money, Jewish people or Christians?” And the CPA laughed and said “Jewish people of course, 10 to 1.” And he said “Why do you think that is; why are the Jewish people so successful?” And he picked up a Bible the CPA did this, this Jewish CPA picked up a Bible on his desk, piled it up to his friend of mine and said “Well you guys all read the back of the book but all the financial principles are in the front of the book which you don’t read or study.” (Laughing) That really illustrates the point that we’re making here that you got to understand these principles that are so ancient that the disciples knew by heart.

Sid: You tell me that people that go through your 4 DVD’s and the study guide and the 8 ½ by 11 inch quick reference guide “That Ancient Keys” and start beginning to understand the Ancient Hebrew Alphabet and all the secret codes in that, that it brings blessing, favor and success to every relationship in their live. From parents with children, to schoolmates to business, associates to relatives. Give me one quick example of someone that took this series and what happened to them.

Jim: I could give so many; actually there’s one even from your own ministry where his marriage was saved and his relationship was saved. But one of the most incredible ones was that there was a couple from Boston who was on the brink of divorce they were separated; they’d been separated for a year; they were both Christians; they tried everything they could find in Christian circles to make this work; they just couldn’t make it work. Someone gave them a link to one of my teachings on our YouTube channel and they watched it and the next thing you know that they watched the “Shalom in the Home” series. He realized like a mechanic looking under the hood what was wrong with his engine; he fixed what was wrong with his engine; he was completely the way he was felling something and he was reacting to something. Came back to his wife and they’re completely restored; beyond restoration they were so impacted and their lives were so changed by this; they sold their house and moved here to tell us about this testimony to become a part of this congregation. That’s the impact this thing had on their lives.

Sid: Jim, I believe that there are people listening to us these are so supernatural I don’t hear them taught anywhere but they’re all from the Bible. These ancient keys to resolve any conflict in any relationship and walk under the supernatural way of doing it’s not natural and then the ancient Alphabet secret code you found.

Sid: My guest Dr. Cindy Trimm and we’re talking about “The Soul Fast Kit.” And fasting is not of food; what is the fasting aspect Dr. Trimm?

Cindy: It is removing the things in our lives that prevent us from hearing God; living life on purpose and for being able to fulfill our assignment in this earth realm as His earthly representative.

Sid: Now you teach on the power of words; how important are words?

Cindy: Words are so important when I read the scriptures out of the book of Numbers how the children of Israel ended up 40 years wandering around the wilderness I thought that God arbitrarily just said “Okay you’ve been naughty and I’m going to send you in the wilderness for 40 years.” But there was a direct correlation because God said “For each day that you mumbled and grumbled and complained and released negativity out of your mouth you will have to wander around in the wilderness for a year. And so for me it was almost like God was saying that for every day that you speak negatively and grumble and complain you potentially are creating the consequences of wandering around in the wilderness for an entire year. That’s a year for every day that we grumble and complain; so there is a direct correlation between what happens in our lives and what comes out of our mouths. Even scripture supports that. The Bible said that “By faith we understand the worlds were framed by the word of God.” When you look at a picture; frame a picture you can either add value to that picture, or you could devalue the picture by the framing. And our words that we are speaking are either adding value to our lives or it’s devaluing our lives. Someone once said that words are containers and I said that words are so very powerful that the words that we speak are exactly like Jesus said “They are spirit and they are life.” Scripture says “Thou shall decree a thing and it shall be established. Life and death is in the power of the tongue any that loves it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Words that we speak even though we don’t see it they don’t disappear; they don’t dissipate; words have power, presence, prophetic implications and no time or space or geographical limitations. And how do we know that; because people are still rehearsing some hurtful words that was said to them by people that they don’t even interact with nowadays and 40 years ago someone might have said something and people still feel the impact of the words. And it was a Centurion that said to Jesus, “You don’t have to come to my house; send your word only and my servant will be healed.” Scripture says that “God sent His word and healed us.” Our words are very powerful containers and we have to be careful of what we are speaking even over our lives; over our marriages; over our communities. God is very specific, He said “First of all prayers should be prayed over our leadership, those that are in authority and whether we like the party or not whether we like it or whether the president is Republican or Democratic watch what you are saying over your leaders. Scriptures says even over your enemies you should bless them and curse not. Why? Because in order to curse someone that curse has to flow through you first; it flows through your mouth first. And so we have to be careful what is coming out of our mouths because I really believe that there is a correlation between what’s happening in our future and what we speak about in our presence. And many things that are happening to us I think are self-fulfilled prophecy.

Sid: But you know a lot of people understand to a degree what you’re teaching right now, but they just can’t stop themselves from talking this negativity. How do they stop?

Cindy: They can stop by using the word of God; the Bible calls it the profession of our faith or the confession of our faith. We need to begin to make faith confessions and the way that we do that is very simple; God said to Joshua in Joshua chapter 1 verses 8 to 9 and it had a lot to do with his success and his prosperity. He said “This book of the law shall not pass from out of your mouth; you shall meditate on it day and night. Meditation if internal dialog and confession is external; what you say out of your mouth. So what you think is just as important as what you speak because what you think affects your speech. And so God says “Mediate on His word day and night for you will make your way prosperous and you will have good success.” And so our success and prosperity is in direct correlation of what we think and what we speak, “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” So we have to watch our words so that we can change our lives. Could things be the way they are because we are the way we are, and what one thing we can change that can change everything. We could change the way that we think about our lives and speak about our lives; and if we do so we can change the way we live our lives.

Sid: Dr. Trimm I believe that if you pray for people right now with just this little teaching they’ve had they’ll stop this negativity. Because it’s really it’s out of control soul not submitting to the word of God.

Cindy: Yes, yes and I’d love the pray. Our Father we give you praise and we asked that You would give us the ability to understand how important our words are and the discipline to begin to study to show ourselves approved unto You; workman that needed not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of God. I pray Father that through the power of the Holy Spirit You would give us the ability to harness our thoughts and bring those thoughts into the proper alignment with the word. And where we are just capriciously using words without an understanding of the ramifications of that word give us the prompting on a day to day basis. Father allow us to understand how important our words are. And to really love Your word and love Your law and give us the discipline to desire it on a day to day basis. Let us discipline our lives like we eat the natural food on a day to day basis 3 meals a day; let us study Your word on a daily basis so that Father we will be transformed inside out. That it will be transferred at the level of our thoughts and then the level of our words and then it will be walked out in our day to day living. We would see our words being impacted by what we say to others and how we treat others. Bless us indeed and bless us with the discipline in this season in Jesus Name, Amen.

Sid: Amen, now you talk about something that I don’t hear much about; you talk about the power of doing, explain.

Cindy: Right, the Bible says “Faith without works is dead.” And there’s one thing to read the scripture and believe the scripture but it’s another thing to apply it. And once we are able to see the word of God has relevance in our day to day living; from everything from making decisions concerning businesses to being able to select the right relationships; who we marry, where we go, how we spend our money. The Bible has a solution to every kind of problem, every kind of situation; in fact the book of Proverbs speaks about wisdom. Wisdom goes beyond just information; wisdom takes information and applies it to our everyday situation. If we would but take the time to read the word of God and make it a part of our daily life just like no one would think about getting up and going back and forth from work without taking a shower. We would not think about getting up in the morning and not spending time and having our personal devotion to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us through the word of God so that He can give us the power and the riches and the wisdom and the might to be able to live a blessed life.

Sid: Cindy, give me an example in your life of how God’s spoken to you through the word.

Cindy: I believe that as we go through the scripture one of the things we can look at is how practical the word of God is. And even out of the book of Proverbs it’s easy to do that. Proverbs is 31 chapters and there is approximately 30 to 31 days in the month. And what I do is I read a Proverbs a day and what I found out is that Proverb for that day in that particular month always gives me solutions to a particular problem or insight as to what I need to do for that day.

Sid: Well Solomon allegedly the smartest man who ever lived so I think it pays to listen to a chapter a day of Proverbs…

SID: So LaDonna is literally starving to death. Her colon, it’s dead for all practical purposes, nine surgeries in 90 days, the 10^th coming up to remove her colon. She’ll never be the same. And it’s such a battle that she’s going through, and she’s wearing out. But she just happens to see the television show she did, It’s Supernatural. Her faith starts soaring. She’s praying for other people, but it still is quite a battle. And at one of her worst moments, 11:30 p.m., and she’s had about all she can handle, 11:30 p.m., she gets a phone call. Why did you even answer at 11:30 p.m.?

LADONNA: That’s a very good question. I thought about not answering. I didn’t recognize the number. But when I said, “Hello”, I heard the voice of my pastor. He identified himself, “This is John Kilpatrick.” And this is what he said, “God told me to call you and to tell you you’re coming out of that bed.” And he said, “Today, you hit breakthrough.” I’m telling you that are watching me and you hear today anybody within the sound of your voice, today you hit breakthrough. He also said, “You may not know it and you may not feel it, but you’re healed. Things are going to be different now. It’s your time. You’re going to fully recover. Now go to sleep and when you open your eyes tomorrow it’s going to be a new day.”

SID: You know, the question I have is, I agree. I agree. How would you like a word like that and you’re starving to death. You’re ready for your last surgery, they’re going to remove your whole colon, your life is never going to be the same. And she gets this call. But the question I have for you, LaDonna, how did he call you at 11:30 p.m.? What kind of pastor is he?

LADONNA: You know, I know Pastor Kilpatrick and he will obey God. And I know why. Because he heard God’s voice.

SID: That’s all you need.

LADONNA: That’s right.

SID: All you need is a word from God. She had a word from God. So what happened after the word?

LADONNA: In five hours, well he said, “Close your eyes and when you open your eyes tomorrow will be a new day.” My stomach that was distended was down two-thirds the next morning. I knew what he meant when he said, “When you open your eyes it will be a new day,” because every day X-ray opened my eyes. The X-ray technicians would come in and they’d roll the machine in, and take a picture of right in my abdomen and it’s different. I looked down and when my opened my eyes, and my stomach was down two-thirds. I knew the picture was going to be different. In four days, the doctor said, go home.

SID: Go home. Did you hear that? This is, look at the hand of God. God moved you desperately. So when you left the hospital you picked up your violin for the first time maybe since the TV show, the last TV show. And what was the first song you played?

LADONNA: The theme throughout my suffering was, Jesus doesn’t love you like you thought he did. So I got my violin and I said, listen to this one, devil. And I played, “Jesus Loves Me”.

SID: Well I tell you what, LaDonna, I’m going to release you to go to the music set. But tell me the truth, between you and me.

LADONNA: Okay.

SID: Does Jesus really love you?

LADONNA: How he loves me. But he loves you and he loves everyone listening to us. He loves us. There is someone listening to us right now and they doubted that. But the Lord is touching your heart. And even more, he’s going to get in these notes and he’s going to really reveal himself to them.

SID: I can’t wait. Would you go to the music set. And I’m going to tell you something. When LaDonna plays this, I can just picture that. Can you picture the first time she played this after coming off the deathbed, starving to death? I’m going to tell you, Jesus really loves you. You’ll feel it as she plays this now.

Sid: Now one of the things that is so frequently mentioned to me is that “I have dreams, lots of them, but I got to the point that they’re all symbolic and I don’t know what they mean and I don’t want to guess.” And then we have other people saying “I’m not just sure if I’m hearing God’s voice or not” or “I don’t hear God’s voice.” So I’ve really been looking forward to interviewing Laura Harris Smith. And Laura I love the title of your book “Seeing the Voice of God.” You kind of do a double take on that.

Laura: (Laughing)

Sid: How in the world did you get into helping believers understand their dreams, hear the voice of God; how did that happen?

Laura:   Hmm, well I oh I guess it was about 20 years ago I was freshly baptized in the Holy Spirit and I was going through a season in life, but I think it’s common to most people that you’re not hearing the voice of the Lord or you think that you’re not and you know you’re in a spiritual like a hearing drought of sorts. So basically my husband had stepped out of a very lucrative job to move into ministry and we had 5 children at the time and we needed a word from God on where we were going to go from there. We thought we knew we had tried that out nothing was succeeding and we doubted ourselves and Him and everything else. So you know I began to notice on bookstore shelves all these books entitled “When God is Silent” and “What to Do When God is Silent,” and it just grieved me. I thought “How can God have a mute button? How could He really withhold communication with His children?” And so I got on my knees that night Sid and I just said “Lord, I have to have a word from You; You must speak to me.” And I finally heard something and it was the oddest phrase; it was 5 days; days and instantly He downloaded this plan into me to get away for 5 days and read the Bible in 5 days. My father had a prayer cabin; he opened his doors for me to just come down there; my husband graciously took care of the 5 kids and I read through the Bible. Not to study Greek or Hebrew, or chew on anything but just to answer the question; “Is God ever silent?” And Sid, I never found one verse saying that He’s silent; I found plenty of verses like “If I regard iniquity in my heart He will not hear me.” But none that God wanted to be silent. And so what that made me do was set me on a quest to discover why we sometimes can’t hear Him if He’s always talking. The first thing that happened was I noticed he began to bypass my ears and go straight for my eyes. I started having dreams and visions and really seeing the voice of God.

Sid: You know what’s kind of interesting; I recently interviewed Randy Clark and he operates on what is called in the Bible “Words of knowledge.” But he went out to Africa and the Christians there explained they got most of their information through their dreams. And it’s like he never even thought about it. And now I’m reading your materials and you make a statement that just knocks you out so to speak. You spend a third of your life sleeping; now if you spend a third of your life sleeping look at a waste if you’re not communicating with God.

Laura: I know, I know it’s so true and people who say “Oh, I never dream” that’s why I wanted to include the two medical chapters, chapters 4 and 5 where I interviewed a sleep study doctor and I sighted all type so of studies on sleep and dream cycles. So yes you are having between 4 to 6 ream dream cycles each night; rapid eye movement cycles. And each one of those 4 to 6 cycles you’re having 4 to 6 dreams. So you’re having somewhere between 16 and 36 dreams every single night. So yes, if you spend a third of your life in bed then by age 75 you’ve slept for 25 years. You know that comes out to almost a million dreams. So the question isn’t “Why am I not dreaming?” the question is “Why am I not remembering my dreams?” And that’s why chapter 5 is called “Dream recall” and it’s why I go into all of the vitamins and minerals. And I interviewed or sighted studies from real experts that can give us insight into how we can remember our dreams; there’s a way to do it. (Laughing)

Sid: Now let me ask you a personal question.

Laura: Okay.

Sid: When I have dreams I do remember them the minute I have them but if I don’t write it down I’m going to forget it, and if I write it down it’s too much energy and I I’m afraid I won’t be able to go back to sleep. Do you have any help for me?

Laura:   Ah that’s good. Yes, actually I quote Sigmund Fraud in the book which could be controversial. You know he was Jewish by birth and atheist by choice; I can’t imagine having those roots and coming to that decision point in my life. But we did agree on one thing and that is “If you do not journal or somehow process the dream immediately after you receive it it will eventually be added to, embellished, and changed entirely. James Gall who wrote the forward for my book has this expression “Stewarding revelation.” I swipe that all the time and say “You must steward revelation well; if you do not you’re likely to lose it. I would suggest for you to keep a little voice recorder by the bed or maybe there’s one on your phone and I also have found that if I just keep a pen and pad by the bed if I just lean over in the dark and I just scribble 4 or 5 of the symbols the dream comes back to me the next morning.

Sid: That sounds good because then I’ll remember the dream but I don’t remember the intricate details that I would have if I had written it down.

Laura: Sounds like you have what a lot of people want really detailed dreams. (Laughing)

Sid: I do (Laughing). Okay, so tell me… that’s a pretty interesting thing I’ve been reading statistics about how many people are having insomnia, either not being able to fall asleep, or wake up frequently during the night. Also people that say “I don’t dream.” Have people followed the vitamins and the regimen you suggest and have been able to sleep better and remember their dreams?

Laura:   Yes, I’m so happy to say yes. And the examples that I site in the book are not from just silly college USA. They are studies from places like John Hopkins University, and Mayo Clinic. And I really wanted to in addition to that though have some personal examples. So I used myself as a guinea pig and found the research to be true. And yes, I am finally starting to hear testimonies even reading some of the reviews on line of people who’ve tried specific regimens and are remember their dreams. And so I’m wiping my brow and saying “Thank you Lord it truly is… it’s a fact if we take care our bodies, if we use the things that God created on day 3 of creation because I also go into the essential oils and herbal teas you can take and that type of thing then we’ll be our healthiest and we’ll sleep our best.

Sid: I have to believe that you’re conclusion is correct because that’s my conclusion from the Bible and that is God’s great desire is to communicate with us. What would you say is the major reason that people have discounted their dreams and say “I never hear from God?”

Laura:   (Laughing) Well, you know Job 33 starting in verse 14 says “God may speak in one way or in another yet man does not perceive it in a dream, in a vision of the night when deep sleep falls upon men; when slumbering on their beds then He opens the ears of men and seals their instruction.” But those words right there in the middle; “Man does not perceive it.” Those are the saddest verses, amongst the saddest in the entire Bible to me to think that God is trying to talk to you. Or back up a minute; you’re begging God to talk to you… He talks to you and then you can’t take yes for an answer. (Laughing) It’s like He’s trying to communicate to you and I want to add emphatically right here that dreams and visions are not a gift of the Spirit; they’re not a badge of maturity or arrival they’re mere communication with God. And communication with God is the birth-rite of every believer.

Sid: Well, I have to believe where we are in history because I had a dream in which I was told 3 times “Jesus is returning soon.” So if there’s ever been a time to hear God it has to be now.

Laura: Hmm, hmm absolutely and you know our ears get clogged for so many different reasons and I do go into those in the book. I actually start out I think it’s chapter 8 by saying “I’d be a bad friend if I spent…” I say something like “We spend about 40,000 words thus far discussing your eyes and that’s about 20,000 per eye and I’d be a bad friend though if I didn’t discuss your hearing, your spiritual hearing and why you’re not hearing God.” So it is definitely a relevant topic; I told you in the very beginning story that when I needed to hear God I got away and solved that question in my mind about how He’s never silent. Then He began giving me dreams and visions but look at what else happened to me and it’s common to many people because we just read it in Job 33.
