Because Jesus said æit would be better for you that a millstone would be hung around your neck and you be thrown into the sea than offend one of these little ones.” I’ve got a book in my home that we just ordered. And it’s I think it’s from like an Episcopalian pastor. It’s not a theological book at all. It’s just a book called “The Red Letters.” And I got it because Al Roever, a good friend of mine, many of you know who he is, Dave Roever’s brother, he’s a theologian.
When he was a boy he had a book called “The Red Letters.” And I’m trying to find it. It’s just an old, old book and it’s just the red letters. That’s all it is, it’s just the red letters. And the truth of the matter is you know a lot of the Old Testament should be red letters because it’s all God teaching and talking and all. But it’s just The New Testament, the red letters. And I had the other day devotions in that little book. And I took it and, um, I started flipping through the pages and all it is is red, it’s just red. It’s about this thick. And as I went through it I saw all the blessings that are being taught today. I saw all of Joseph Prince and Joel Osteen. And I saw the Rick Warren’s, and I saw, I saw everything. And by the way we’re entering the day of naming names. Okay? Oh, and by the way don’t be offended by that ever! Ever! Because it’s scriptural. From Genesis to Revelation, God names names. And if you lived back in those days and your name was Bobby and you were a teenager and you were rebellious, they would say Bobby, go to the town square and Bobby would get stoned or Bobby would be killed.
Different day. David Ravenhill just preached a message called “When God Goes on a Killing Spree.” Hooo. And so I’ve got a message right now called “It Ain’t Gossip.” And I’m still working on it because it’s getting, I mean it’s just getting thicker and thicker and thicker and it’s going past an hour, past two hours. And it’s all that. It’s all when God names names and kills them. And then I’m going well, you’re going to soften up in the New Testament… you know. I get the New Testament, and get to Ananias and Sapphira. It doesn’t say and there was a couple in the church. Ananias and Sapphira lied to God and they, they died. By name. And then Paul says Alexander the coppersmith has done me great harm. Does away with him. And he says I turned this man in the Corinthian church over to Satan and everybody knew who he was talking about. And then he closes his Epistles, his letters with names, just names. And then you get to Revelation.
Forget it, I mean it’s like all over. God’s, God’s blowing them up, burning them, throwing them into pits. And He’s just, um… and so I’m in this little red letter book having my devotions. And I’m reading all the blessings, and all the, the candy, and you know the “Twinkies.” I used to use Twinkies all the time, you know, in illustrations but now Hostess is going out of business and, it’s like the end of the world as we know it. You know.
