Sid: We want everyone everywhere to hear God to have such intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Now what I love about my guest this week, Jim Hockaday is God has given him the gift of empowering you to release what God’s already put within you. When you hear his teaching and the presence of God comes on you with this teaching, you’ll develop such intimacy with God. For instance, Jim tell me about the time that you told the lady that had a tumor to go into the ladies room and put water on the tumor. How did you come up with that?
Jim: Well, I guess it’s, you could say through a process of learning to work with the Holy Ghost and open my heart up to possibilities. In other words, not to be so confined in the way that I’ve always done it. I just go into every service just wide open. I’ve looked at this lady and she had a tumor on her breast that was the size of probably, and she’s the one that made the reference to it, and she said I have a tumor on my breast that’s the size of a grapefruit. And without batting an eye I said well it will just disappear, you go back to ladies room right now, take someone with you and I said go ahead and put water on that and you’ll see it disappear before your eyes. Well she did it and she came back in, you didn’t need to ask her if it happened. She was like a freight train going through a tunnel just rejoicing at the top of her lungs, dancing and shouting. In fact, the whole place took off dancing and shouting and running all over the room over her testimony. She came back and it was completely well.
Sid: Jim, what if she had come back and it wasn’t. What would you have said?
Jim: Well, I’ve had some that have happened that way. I looked at a lady and I told her I said “Now you’ll go out, you won’t go three times without having that tumor disappear. Do you understand what I said? She said, yes Sir. I said go out right now this is your first time. She went out the first time. She came back in and she said, well its half the size. Well good, it’s going the right direction. Well, I went ahead and I started preaching again, we were preaching on the God kind of faith, in other words, the faith that doesn’t fail. And I looked at her after about ten minutes I said go and I said now is your second time. Do you remember what I said, she said, yes I do. I won’t go out three times or two more times without it being gone. I said that’s right. She came back in and she said, well it’s real hot where that’s at but it’s about the same size the size of a…half the size. I said well, that’s great, that’s good it’s hot that means it’s working. I said so you remember what I said didn’t you, she said yes. So I got to the point in my message, I said well now’s the third time. Go out and see the rest of what we said is so. She went out and she came back in now this was what happened. I saw her when she came back in she stood at the back door. She didn’t come back in like rejoicing, running up to the front. So I knew she was going to try to tell me that it was still there. So she started walking down and she looked at me and said well, it is still there half the size. And I walked off the platform got about two inches away from her nose eye to eye, and said I’m sorry I said if it would disappear that’s what happened. She said well, I’m just telling you what it is. She said that its still there. I said that it would disappear that’s what happened. She said yea, but I went up there and its half the size but I said it would disappear and that’s what happened. And she looked at me and got mad. And said well, all right then, it disappeared. I said good, I’m glad that you’re in agreement check it right now. She did and it was gone.
Sid: There is such a depth of understanding the truth of God’s Word that you can’t hear enough about people that have walked in this and that’s why I’m making this six CD Seminar available to you, “How to develop intimacy with the Holy Spirit.” As far as I’m concerned Jim this is the course correction that those that understand the truth have to get to with intimacy with God. It’s going to make all the difference in them walking in the promises. Talk a little bit because I love to hear you teach about intimacy with God. Talk a little bit about that.
Jim: Well, I’ll make it real real simple here and you know it’s as simple as how well we begin to develop an awareness of His presence. And so, you and I are right now on a name to name basis and were talking with one and other and I’m very aware that you’re on the other end of this phone and were having this interview. But there’s a whole lot of people out there that are listening their hearing our voices just as well as you and I are hearing our voices but their there but as included as you and I because we’re not calling them calling them by name. Now, if I said Honey to my wife, Erin, hey babe I love you, just want to let you know I’m talking to you right now on the air. Now, if she were listening, it would draw her into the conversation, would it not?
Sid: Of course.
Jim: Sure, because I made it personal. Philemon verse six says that the communication of our faith would become effectual by the acknowledgement of every good thing which is in you in Christ. Intimacy with the Holy Ghost begins when you begin to acknowledge His indwelling presence and when you begin to acknowledge Him he is drawn into your world. He’s there, but you know that there are a lot of things that are around us all the time and we are not aware of it, we don’t recognize it. Take Gideon for example, the Lord appeared to him in a vision and a man stood there that was the Angel of the Lord and Gideon didn’t even recognize Him but when he did; what happened? Oh I’ve seen the Lord today. Well, yes. God is with us right now in the person of the Holy Spirit because of our Lord Jesus and when you begin to acknowledge His presence, immediately He’ll begin to work with you. He was sent by the Father, Jesus said as your advantage in life. In other words, you could say it like this and sum it all up. In the same way that the disciples had such an amazing time walking with Jesus for three and half years that is exactly what the relationship is like for us to walk with the Holy Spirit. To have that kind of closeness, awareness and to have that kind of presence in our life.
Sid: Now, when you talk about acknowledging God’s presence your saying talking about what the Word of God says.
Jim: Talking about what the Word of God says, revealing the scripture, it comes to life. And also…
Sid: Well, give me an example, do it right now.
Jim: Well, I would start out even right now and I would just begin to say, Father, I just thank you so much that you did send the Holy Spirit and He does live in my heart and because of my Lord and Savior right now, I am one with God in Spirit, inseparable. Holy Spirit your there right now and I know that you’ve got things to share with me. And so I just open up my heart because I know that you’re speaking and then He begins to speak. And so right now there is somebody that has had a lump in the throat that seems like it’s difficult to swallow and even when you do it’s painful. But that lump disappears right now in the wonderful precious Name of Jesus because the Holy Ghost is revealing that and the anointing is beginning to flow and it’s no different in life. As you walk with Him, there’s times when He’ll speak and there’s other time that you’ll just recognize that He’s there. But all of it gives you confidence and boldness to approach life according to the word and know that you’re an overcomer.
Sid: Now speaking of boldness, now tell me about that boy that had polio that his leg straightened out before everyone watching.
Jim: Yea, it was pretty wild, he had polio and had one leg that was drawn up as though it was almost in a crossed position while the other leg was normal and hanging down and it was drawn up and small and skinny, and not the same length. And when we prayed for him, all of a sudden his leg shot out. Now the Pastor’s wife was sitting right next to him and she was given to many visions and she said, when you walked over a large angel walked up and when you prayed that angel grabbed that boy’s leg and jerked it out and it became completely normal and whole.
Sid: That’s the type of thing that’s about ready to be released and I believe as people develop their intimacy with the Holy Spirit it’s going to be released in their life. I mean that what you just described is sensational, but it’s also normal according to the promises of the Word of God.
Jim: Yes Sir. In fact and I’ll make this small little observation, Jesus said that He was going to send a helper to help us. Now, here’s what we’ve done. We’ve made the Holy Ghost the doer. Were twitteling our thumps waiting on God to do something and were assuming the position of the helper. Lord, if you’ll do something, I’ll help. But the Bible declares and Jesus has said it himself in Matthew 7 and James reiterated this same principle throughout his epistle that we are the doers of the word. The Holy Ghost is the helper and when someone has recognition of God and their aware of His presence. They become bold to become a doer of the word. And when they step out to do that’s when the miraculous happens because the Holy Ghost will help.
Sid: Consider yourself challenged; by the way I have heard a Word of Knowledge that someone’s back was healed. In fact their entire spine was straightened out in Jesus Name. Are you catching anything else Jim?
Jim: Well, I just want to make reference to any type of stomach disorder. You can just be confident that this afternoon if you’ll take this that’s been spoken, go get yourself something to eat. The Spirit of the Lord will come upon you when you put that first bite in your mouth and you’ll see that your stomach has been healed.
