Our Guest Barry Feinman
Sid: My guest is the Executive Director of Jezreel International, Barry Feinman, another Jewish man that is red hot for Yeshua, Hebrew for Jesus. I’m speaking to him at his home in Albany, New York. You know I had a revelation from God the other day, and I’ve often said to God and almost feel guilty over this, but I’ve said, “God why have you blessed me so much and my family and coming to know you in my personal finances and the finances of the ministry? Why have You been so good to me?” And I know God is good and I understand all those things, but this is better than good, and so I’ve been praying God how come you’re doing this, I mean I’m not better or worse than anyone else I don’t see You doing this to the degree that other people.” And He answered me a couple of days ago. And He said, “It’s because of what your parents did.” Now what did my parents do? My parents took care of refugees from Hitler’s concentration camp, they were relatives of ours and brought them to the United States, let them live in our house, fed them, clothed them and gave them a place to live till they got on their feet. Today these people are college graduates, they have great jobs, their children are prospering, but because my parents blessed the Jewish people the blessings passed on to the second generation to my sister and myself. And by the way the same thing that I said about myself is true for my sister. And then when I interviewed the author of the book about the man that found the first concentration camps and rescued the Jewish people. Then I showed all the blessings that came to his family, there is something about blessing the Jewish people that is in the heart of God. And I believe if it’s ever been in the heart of God it’s in His heart now and that’s why people write me and they say, “Sid, we want to give humanitarian aid to Israel, who do you recommend?” Well, I’ll do better than that, I’m not only recommend someone I’ll say that Messianic Vision invests in his ministry, and I want you to get know Barry Feinman and Jezreel international because I believe a part of your money should be going into humanitarian aid for Israel. Barry tell me a bit about Jezreel; first of all where did you get the name? Its Supernatural Sid Roth 2011
Barry: Well Sid, first I’m just a little thrown back by what you opened up with I just think it’s absolutely incredible that revelation that the Lord gave you about your parents and what they did for these Holocaust survivors. It just…
Sid: It never dawned on me until a couple of days ago.
Barry: It’s awesome and you know something? I just I know you asked me a question, but I just got to talk about this for a moment. My heart almost breaks now and it’s supernatural because in Israel just a couple ago you saw it in the news the Holocaust Survivors in two categories; one is the Holocaust Refugees, and one the Holocaust Survivors. And unfortunately Israel is not in the financial position to help the Refugees and so many of them are living below poverty line. The survivors do get a small stipend from the government and many of them are also living below the poverty line and in their own nation. And my heart just when I read this, not all of them, but there’s many of them that should be honored and not have to be concerned about everyday living. And so one of my deepest desires now is to do whatever I can to bring our supplies from our warehouse when we sent our supplies to Israel to connect when I’m over to connect with some of these ministries to see what we can do to help them.
Sid: What type of supplies do you send to Israel for humanitarian purposes?
Barry: We send everything from things like basics of life, paper products, toilet paper, paper towels, you know those kind of things, we send over clothing of course. We send over medical equipment, hospital supplies, medical supplies, personal care items, and when we can get it, and from time to time we get shipments of like furniture that’s in very, very good condition we will send furniture over to them especially now we’re on this big drive, I don’t know if you saw it recently once I again I know, but Siderot and some of the other cities in that area of Israel have been getting clobbered with this continuous rocket attack. So many people have lost everything, I mean everything and they are not insured like we are here. And just the everyday their businesses have suffered, their homes have suffered, just everyday products for every day living they just don’t have it. So that’s the kind of stuff that we have been shipping to Israel for several years now. Sid Roth rapture
Sid: Now, let’s go back to my original question what does Jezreel mean and what does it mean for those that are part of Jezreel?
Barry: Okay, Jezreel is the Hebrew word Yez-rah-el, and it literally means God sows, or God will sow like gardening when sow seed.
Sid: Sowing and reaping.
Barry: Yes, and so God will sow. So Jezreel is I believe truly sent a vision down from heaven for us to answer prayer because I don’t know it you have ever – I’ve asked people all the time or I’m speaking a church; “Have you ever thought about prayer. Have you ever thought about what happens to prayer?” I mean we’re fervent and we pray to God, but once it leaves our mouth where does it go and what does it do? And of course we know that it heads up to heaven, but then what? Well, if you track it, it means in order for it to get answered its got to come down. And it’s got to be answered and how does it get answered? Well, I mean it gets answered through us. And so basically God is sowing this humanitarian aid, this desperately needed supplies through us for His glory. We have a saying at Jezreel it’s called “Acts of kindness open eyes of blindness.” And that’s exactly what we’re seeing no matter when you… My heart goes out to even missionaries you know when they go to these third world countries wherever they’re working, and you see people that are hungry, and you see people that are sick, and you preach the gospel to them. You know to me feed them first, cloth them first, take care of their illness first, then tell them why you did it and that’s the gospel.
Sid: And isn’t that like the original vision that the founder of the salvation army had.
Barry: Totally yes, exactly true.
Sid: Now I know that we have a lot of mutual friends. One in particular Jonathan Bernis and I went on the first trip to the former Soviet Union that was evangelistic, and we were both shocked when we saw hundreds, if not thousands of unsaved Jewish people running to the altar to get saved. And I know that you went on a couple of trips with Jonathan that changed your life, explain.
Barry: Well, Sid I never really had a desire to do missions in my life until I heard Jonathan Bernis speak. While he was speaking and telling the audience at that time about what took place in his first outreach, and I believe it was St. Petersburg in the former Soviet Union.
Sid: It was.
Barry: And I remember the amount of Jewish people that came to the Lord, and as he was sharing this I was getting tears in my eyes. And then he started talking about the next outreach he was going to do and it was going to be in Moscow and I said, “I have to go.” The Spirit of God just hit me so strong I had to be a part of that. And you know when it came up back in 1994 I believe it was, you know Jonathan as well as anybody and he’s a man of faith. He rented the Moscow Olympic Stadium for this outreach, and I’ll tell you he took such heat, and this is what came to me. When God invites you to do something for Him, it’s always bigger than we are, always and it always puts you into a crisis faith.
Sid: Is that why I’m always feel so overwhelmed these days, it’s good you mean?
Barry: Exactly. So what happens is that if He gave it to us, let us do it in our way and our size then we could easily take the credit and the glory for it and that’s why it’s always bigger than we are. Anyway, Jonathan when he took this Moscow Stadium the manager I remember him telling the story, the manager of the stadium said to him “Sir, we’ll be more than happy to rent this to you, but the last time we had even more than, (this place seated 7 ½ thousand people) since the Olympics we use this for special guest singers and things like that and the most we’ve ever seen in here is maybe 4 or 5,000. And so for this religious activity you can do what you want, but if it was me I wouldn’t use this place.” And in so many words Jonathan was, and of course the enemies comes right after to discourage, and now comes the crisis of faith. “Lord, did you really tell me to this, am I really in Your will?” I mean all those things start coming up, and praise God for Jonathan he went and he did it and in three nights, I’m a part of this, and I’m on the leadership team. And Sid not since the book of Acts I don’t think anything ever like this has happened here over three nights somewhere between 50, 60 and 70,000 I lost count, so many people were there, so many Jewish people, over half of them were Jewish.
Sid: And so many Jewish people made professions of faith, we’ll pick up right here on tomorrows broadcast.
