SANDRA: I mean if He’s not what are you doing here? 

AUDIENCE: Amen!

SANDRA: Is Jesus is all you need? If there’s something else you need why aren’t you out hunting it? Jesus is all we need!

AUDIENCE: Amen!

SANDRA: But you’re going to have to fight your brain! You’re going to have to make your decision whether or not He is sufficient! She came to the end of herself. She came up with this idea. Okay, I’m going to go down there. So she decided to believe, about the story of faith. She made up her mind. I’m asking you the question right now. Do you believe that you can walk out this door today knowing that you know down in – I call it “knowing in your knower.” Can you walk out this door knowing in your knower that your God is all that you need! Your body is screaming at you “nothing has changed!” Except you have made a decision and come at rest with God and He’s sufficient!

AUDIENCE: [Clapping]

SANDRA: That’s only a decision. It’s not a feeling. It’s a decision! But if you make that decision everything will change in your life but you got to be unmovable! So anyone, anyone, you know, can make up their mind today! Then I said it earlier. You must be healed in the way you think before you’ll ever be healed in your body! That’s what’s wrong with most of us in here. We’re thinking wrong! We’re thinking wrong! Well, everybody, I know’s had this. Everybody’s died who’s had this. This has run in my family and you haven’t run it out yet! You ought to! Run it out of your family! Don’t let it stay there!

AUDIENCE: Amen!

SANDRA: Some of you are thinking it’s been in my family and they all have died when they got to 29 and I’m, you know, 28 and a half! No! And so death is in front of me. You have to make up your mind, what carries the weight in your life? Who Jesus really is? Is He bigger than your thinking! You got to make Him bigger than your thinking! And you’ve got to think. “As a man thinks in his heart, that’s the way that man is.” So she decided, she decided a point of contact. She made up her mind. She didn’t get an inside word from the Lord. “Well, when I touch the hem of His garment.” No. She decided how she wanted to be healed! Do you know that Jesus will make you make up your mind how you want to be healed? Right in front of him – right in front of this story is the story about Jairus. Right in front of this is the story about Jairus. Jairus said I have a daughter who’s basically dead. If You will come and lay hands on her, she will be healed. So He said okay, it sounds good to Me! He let Jairus make up his mind. You remember the centurion? You don’t need to come in, my house. I’m not worried. Just give me the Word! Jesus will let you decide how you want to be healed! Now that’s pretty good! He’ll let you make up your own mind! You’re sitting in here already making up your mind! You’ve been making up your mind how you think you’re going to get it! So you just make up your mind! Well okay! I’m going to get it if somebody lays hands on me. So you go all over the nation looking for that one some person to lay hands on you! You can lay hands on yourself and get healed!

AUDIENCE: Amen!

Sid Roth: It’s the righteous standard of God.

Katie Souza: It is.

So it’s not the law that’s at fault.

The Bible also says that our flesh is too weak to keep the

whole law.

In fact, James 2:10 says it’s impossible.

There’s no way that we can perfectly keep the law.

Because when we offend in one area,

we break it all.

We break all the law.

That is what’s given the spirit of death to have the right to

attack our bodily organs, to attack our skin,

our muscles, our strength, and also the rest of our lives,

any area of our life.

Sid Roth: What can we do to stop this?

Katie Souza: Well, first, we need to build a deeper

relationship with Jesus.

I want you to think about it.

The Bible says that Jesus redeemed us from the curse of

the law by becoming a curse for us.

The Bible also says that Jesus, through his death,

he took away the power from the one who had the power of death,

that is the devil.

See, we can’t do it by wishing it away or even do it on

our own ability.

We have to rely on Jesus.

He’s the one that has destroyed death for us.

The Bible also says that he fulfilled the righteous

requirements of the law on our behalf.

He did something we could never do.

So we have to have a deep, intimate relationship

with Jesus.

I’m not just talking about going to church on Wednesday or Sunday

and thinking that’s good enough.

I’m talking about abiding in him,

abiding and tarrying in him, waiting for him,

building a deeper relationship every single day,

where we are relying on him.

Think about what Jesus said in John 15.

He said that, “I am the vine.

You are the branches.

Whoever abides in me will produce much fruit.

He who doesn’t will be like a branch that gets cut off,

withers and dries up.”

Think about that.

Sid, when we abide in Jesus, which means to continue,

to tarry, to wait on, we will produce much fruit,

fruit in every area, including fruit for youth restored,

fruit for life.

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.

I am the bread of life.

I came to give you life and life abundant.”

He said all these things about himself.

When we’re connected to the vine,

we will produce the fruit of life,

and revive youth, and restored youth.

But when we don’t, we become like the branch that’s literally

cut off and it withers and dies.

Sid Roth: How did you defeat all these enemies that were drawn in

by the spirit of death?

Katie Souza: Well, I’m telling you,

the first thing I did was repent,

because when we break the law of God,

we need to have repentance.

1 John 1:9 says that God is faithful to forgive us of our

sins when we repent and confess our sins.

So as soon as we repent, those charges of us breaking the law

get dismissed.

Then what happens is the spirit of death has to leave.

He has to stop producing fruit in our bodily organs,

including rapid aging and disease and disorder.

Sid Roth: Okay.

You repented.

What else?

Katie Souza: Well, here’s the thing.

We have to repent, but we also have to put ourselves

under grace.

It’s not one or the other, like many people teach.

It’s both, because the Bible says when our sins of

law-breaking increase and abound,

that grace surpasses it, meaning our law-breaking,

and super abounds over it.

JAMIE: You know what I’m saying?

SHAWN: Yes.

JAMIE: We get words and you’re like 20 years from now – 10, you know.

SHAWN: Right, right.

JAMIE: But now it’s like this week, this will be happening.

SHAWN: Right. Right.

JAMIE: Have you been noticing those type of words?

SHAWN: Well yes. The Lord told me one day He said Shawn, I want you to move in the ônowö realm. I said, Lord, what does that mean? He said I want you to move in now. N-o-w. No opportunity wasted! NOW! So when you move in the high prophetic frequency you can take, the futuristic word, and bring it into the present! So it’s not going to take 10 or 20 years like it used to because the realm of time is coming to a short time!

JAMIE: Yeah.

SHAWN: So God wants us to move in the, now realm; where there’s no opportunity wasted! So when we speak upon the commanding word – You know Peter asked the Lord, Lord can I come to you? And upon the word “come” Peter began to walk on water! See it’s about moving on the, accelerated word;  the instant word, for us to see and produce miracles!  

JAMIE: That’s amazing!

SHAWN: Yes.

JAMIE: I’m excited because I believe God wants to do some now things in your life! When we get back I’m going to ask Shawn what God is showing him right now! We’re going to talk about some of the now miracles that he’s seeing and what I believe, you know, that he’s going to bring is something for us to step into in this now moment!

JAMIE: Hi, I’m Jamie Galloway! [music ends] I’m your host today and I’m excited because Shawn Morris has been here and we’ve been hearing some of the prophetic strategies that he’s been you know downloaded by the Father. The Holy Spirit has been speaking to him and I think there’s something for him to impart to us right now! Shawn, you’ve been seeing some prophetic miracles!

SHAWN: Yes!

JAMIE: And specifically resurrections from the dead!

SHAWN: Resurrection from the dead! Yes. We were in Macon Georgia and I was at this pastor’s church and I received a prophetic word that a lady was going to die in their church and they were going to raise her from the dead. Now you know the pastors freaked out! They’re like hold on prophet! You sure you’re hearing from God because we don’t want anybody dying in our church! So that resurrection Easter the lady came to the church. She died. She had a stroke. She died in the service. Everyone was tryinÆ to call 911. No one’s phone would work. All of a sudden they remembered the word that I spoke and they raised the lady back from the dead!

JAMIE: Wow!

SHAWN: Yes.

JAMIE:  Okay. Now take me back through that you know in a step-by-step process.

SHAWN: Yes. Okay.

JAMIE: You get this word.

SHAWN: Yeah.

JAMIE: There’s going to be somebody that died. Right?

SHAWN: Yes.

JAMIE: Did the Lord give you that in the moment?

SHAWN: He gave me it in the moment of the service while I was prophesying to the people and I turned to the pastors and I gave that word. Now upon that word they did not believe it. They just took it and brushed it off as a joke. And within that month – within that timeframe that Easter a lady came to the church and died and that prophetic word came back to them.

JAMIE: Phew!

ART: I don’t have to worry about it. I don’t have to freak out. I’m not in trouble. I’m not in sin or anything. It’s not my responsibility to carry! It’s kind of hard sometimes to separate yourself from the symptom you’re feeling and just simply trust. So you know when it comes to trusting the body of Christ you know Paul said there are sick and dying and dead people among you. Why? Because you failed to discern the Lord’s body.

JAMIE: Mmm!

ART: And you know he’s talking in the context of communion so we think he’s talking about the bread but in the bigger context of that portion of 1st Corinthians 11 he’s talking about the body of Christ, the people! Like if we would discern that’s the body of Jesus there – you know in 1st Corinthians 6 he said don’t you know –

JAMIE: Phew! That’s huge, man!

ART: He’s like don’t you know –

JAMIE: That’s huge!

ART: That your bodies are members of Christ Himself!  

JAMIE: That is huge! Whoa!

ART: That’s takes us beyond just the metaphor of the body of Christ and makes us literal physical extensions of Jesus! So like some people will you know travel for hours to show up at one of my meetings and I feel bad cause I’m like don’t you guys realize like you could have grabbed the shirtsleeve of the person next to you in church last week and you know they’re just as much the body of Jesus as I am. Touch the hem of their garment! You know? [laughs]

JAMIE: Whew! So hang on that for a moment.

ART: Yeah. [laughs]

JAMIE: This is – I’ve never heard anybody put it quite like that! So you’re saying when he says there’s some sick among you, some have even died because you have not discerned the Lord’s body rightly we’re talking about communion but in the same context we’re also talking about the power of other believers.

ART: Bingo!

JAMIE: And their touch!

ART: All the times when Jesus said your faith has healed you or as you believe be it so unto you realize like we know the end of the story. We know John 1:1. We know Jesus was and is God.

JAMIE: Yeah.

ART: But they didn’t know that! At best He was Messiah. Jesus, son of David have mercy on me. Some of them thought He was a prophet. Most of them rabbi, teacher. So if it was their perfect faith in God that healed them then they could have been healed without coming to Jesus cause they didn’t know He was God. So when He said your faith has healed you He’s talking about their faith in Him as a minister to actually deliver what God wants.

JAMIE: Wow.

ART: So the only faith really expected of the sick person is faith enough to let someone else minister to them!

JAMIE: Phew! This is huge! Okay. Healed people heal people.

ART: Okay.

JAMIE: Okay, you’ve been healed?

ART: Sure.

JAMIE: Right. You have this testimony. It’s available online. People can look this up. Right?

ART: Yup!

JAMIE: So have you seen skin diseases, skin irritations, that kind of stuff healed?

ART: Absolutely, yup! Skin conditions. I mean blind eyes, deaf ears. But I also like to encourage people like I was healed of degenerative disc disease in April 2011 actually at a meeting of a mutual friend of ours Will Hart.

JAMIE: Oh yes. Yeah!

JOHN: I want you to go and stand with her. Stay with her. Shirlene, come here. Hold her. Hold on to her, mate. You hold the other side cause the power of God is all over her! You just hang on. You come around here. Just hang on. Come over here. Now Shirlene.

WOMAN #6: Michelle.

JOHN: Michelle. Sorry! Where’s my Shirlene? Shirlene!

AUDIENCE: [Laughter]

JOHN: Excuse me. I’m sorry! Shooh!

AUDIENCE: [Laughter]

JOHN: Hey lady! Get up and run! Come on! And hang on to her because the power of God is on her! Run! Run! Run! Run around here. Run! Run! Run! Run! Wow! Stop! Stop! How is that feeling?

WOMAN #6: It’s feeling better! It’s feeling better!

JOHN: You did it, mate! You’re running?

WOMAN #6: Yeah, I’m running!

JOHN: How long has it been since you could run?

WOMAN #6: It’s been a long time!

JOHN: How many years?  

WOMAN #6: I can’t remember. It’s so long.

JOHN: Let me shake your hand! Choooh! Shssh! Get it right now! The power is present to heal here right now! Right now I’m going to pray over you the same power for her right now can touch you in your seats! You know it’s by simple faith in Christ! He took this on the cross! You know this is normal Christianity! Normal! And you know when I pray for you the power of God is going to begin to heal you! But as an act of faith put your hand on the part of your body where you need a miracle. Now I know some of you might not have enough hands!

AUDIENCE: [Laughter] 

JOHN: But you know Jesus knows what you need! Cause He knows what you need! Now here’s another secret. You know Paul talked about the cross. The simplicity of the message that Jesus died on the cross! He rose again from the dead! He is alive! He sent His Holy Spirit and you know I tell you this is real! And when I pray right now, God is going to heal many of you right now! Come on! Are you ready for a miracle? Put your hand where you need a miracle and the same power flowing here is going to touch you right now! You ready? Just relax and like a little child and just receive! Lord Jesus right now! We give You all the glory that You are our Healer! And we thank You, Lord, for an open heaven over this place! In Your name, Jesus, I break every curse! I decree healing right now for every person! I command pain to go right now! Arthritis! Lupus! Nerve pain! Be healed right now! God, release shoulders right now! Release legs right now! Release hips right now! A miracle! Heal muscles right now! Heal nerves right now! I break every nerve disease right now! Be healed cancer! I break cancer right now! Be healed! Depression I break right now! I command that heaviness go in Jesus’ name! I break addiction right now! I break fear, anxiety and torment! Be healed in the name of Jesus! God, right now heal stomachs and abdomens and kidneys and livers and prostates! Every organ right now healing! Tendonitis.

JOHN: You know the most exact beautiful message perfect in every way. But he chose one thing! To preach the cross! Because Paul understood that’s where the power is! The power is what Christ has already done for us! And some people say, “John, this just seems too simple! I want something more complex!” Well Paul knew the secret is in the simplicity of the power of the cross! In fact Paul goes on in verse 3. He says: “I was with you in weakness, in fear and in much trembling.” You know what I say? Well here’s Paul. Paul is one of the bravest men you could ever meet! Paul wasn’t even scared of death! Why would Paul talk about weakness and fear and trembling? And this is my take on it. I believe this. He was so concerned that people would see him as a great orator, as a great preacher, as a great wordsmith. He was concerned meant “I don’t want them to see me. I want them to see Jesus!”

AUDIENCE: Yes!

JOHN: “All I want is them to see Christ crucified in me! Not fancy words. Not my preaching!”

AUDIENCE: [Clapping]

JOHN: Because he goes on and says this. He says in verse 4: “And my speech and my peaching was not with persuasive words of human wisdom but in the demonstration of the Spirit and power.”

AUDIENCE: Whooo! [Clapping]

JOHN: God’s Word has power! And you know each time I have a healing seminar I always give demonstrations of miracles because people need to see that He is alive! And you know what? And then it says that: “Your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”

AUDIENCE: Yes.

JOHN: There’s power in that name of Jesus! Something happens as we lay hands on the sick by simple childlike faith! Something happens! And though Paul was a great speaker, a great orator, he knew this very simple thing that Jesus said. We see Jesus said this in Matthew 19:14. And Jesus said: “Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them for such is the kingdom of heaven.” Cause his disciples were trying to stop the children coming to Jesus! I mean He’s the Messiah! I mean He’s a great teacher. Messiah. But Jesus said don’t stop the children because the kingdom of god is in the simplicity! Simplicity! And you know what? It’s so simple that you as a believer can lay hands on the sick. But what often stops us is what’s between our ears! You know your mind speaks to you all the time. “Oh, well that can’t happen? How can God use me? Or I don’t feel the anointing.” It’s not about what you feel! You know there’s no verse that says that faith comes by feeling! It comes by a decision to believe Jesus!

AUDIENCE: Amen!

JOHN: And we see here, we also see in Corinthians. We see also in the Word of God in 1st Corinthians 2 and 14. It says that: “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God. They are foolishness to him.” You know to the natural mind miracles is crazy! You know to the natural mind, miracles is foolish! But to the spirit man, the spirit man moving in the spirit of God, miracles are normal! You know miracles are normal? In fact the absence of miracles is abnormal Christianity! AUDIENCE: Amen!

SID: Joshua it is increasing,

JOSHUA: Thank You, Jesus!

SID: It is increasing as you’re speaking.

JOSHUA: Thank You, Jesus. Thank You.

SID: The glory realm is increasing. Pray!

JOSHUA: I can feel it right now. Father, right now I thank You that You are releasing divine peace. Lord, I thank You that You are releasing divine miracles. Lord, I thank You that even right now in the midst of every situation You are bringing supernatural breakthrough as the atmosphere of heaven is being released for those who are listening. In Jesus’ mighty name! Amen.

SID: What about sickness? When the atmosphere of heaven is there explain atmosphere and maybe give me a testimony of someone that God healed.

JOSHUA: You know what, Sid? Very recently just a few weeks ago I met a woman named Mary Jo Davis who had one of the most interesting things happen to her. She had gone into work one day. Was getting really dizzy. The next thing she knows she’s in an ambulance being carried to the hospital. She gets to the hospital. They want to do a scan. They put her through the machine and they tell her that she has a tumor in the back of her head that she didn’t know about. They said it would be a pretty routine surgery to remove it, not something that would be life-threatening in any way and they should be able to take it out. And they sent her immediately into the surgery. As she going through the surgery they cut an artery

SID: Oh!

JOSHUA: and she began bleeding and all of a sudden this changed everything completely and instead of it being just a routine surgery now it became something a bit more complicated. Mary Jo ended up in a coma. The doctors said that they weren’t sure she was going to pull out of it very easily. If she did she would most likely be paralyzed within her body. She would never speak the way she had spoken before. She wouldn’t be able to walk. And the doctor suggested that her sisters were called in, her family was called to attend to her bedside because they really weren’t sure she was going to make it. After two days the doctors suggested pulling her off of life support because they really didn’t give Mary Jo any more hope. And thank God her sister had come up from Texas with one of my CD’s and actually felt prompted of the Lord to play that CD just over and over in Mary Jo’s ears all night long. And you know what happened? The very next day Mary Jo came out of that coma and actually touched the doctor’s hand with a finger. That evening she began speaking normally.

SID: Hmm!

JOSHUA: The very next day she was moving around. Everything changed completely for Mary Jo. I met her a few weeks ago. You would never know that she had gone through this trauma last Fall. You would never know that there was anything that was wrong with her. You don’t see any scarring on her body from the surgery that had been done. And she is a living, walking, talking miracle and it’s because her sister had enough sense to create an atmosphere of healing for her sister right there in the hospital and play that healing CD for her. And so I am so thankful for people that discern atmospheres, understand atmospheres and know that God can work with atmospheres to release His glory.

LAURA: This is what our children are learning and then we wonder why there are these conflicts relationally afterward. So we’ve been down that same exact path. It is so important!

DAWNA: Well if you think about it the enemy is trying to orphan us from the Father. 

LAURA: Mmm! Wow.

DAWNA: So if he can take us away from the truth that there is a great Father, a good, good father out there then he can-

LAURA: I see. Okay.

DAWNA: Actually remove us from that truth. And so I can’t stand it. There were TV shows – I’m not sure if we’re supposed to say them on line but –

LAURA: [laughs]

DAWNA: I was just like no, I’m not –

LAURA: Don’t! Cause I’m thinking like 3 myself! [laughs]

DAWNA: Yeah, I know. I’m not watching that. And my kids to this day don’t watch that. I mean but really what do you want in your home? I mean I threw away a movie that was about a thief that was supposed to be a diamond in the rough and I thought – I told my kids I said we can’t have that I said because he’s stealing. Oh but he’s stealing and he’s sharing. And I’m like yeah, but at the time we had friends that were very poor and we had almost no money and I would clip coupons and I would get two-for-ones and we would put it aside for them, the second one. And so it was so cool how the Holy Spirit works it out. I said we’re on our way, after grocery shopping, we’ve just talked about we’re going to get rid of this movie. And my boys are like yeah, but we really like it. He’s a diamond in the rough. And the enemy twists things, you know? 

LAURA: Yeah, he does.

DAWNA: And I’m like – and I thought oh, should our friends steal or is it our job to help provide?

LAURA: Uh-huh.

DAWNA: And it was like ohh. And they’ve never said anything since then! 

LAURA: And you know what? I wound up with my sons who –  they balked at this idea at first.

DAWNA: Yeah, yeah.

LAURA: Now they’re both in film and television.

DAWNA: Oh! [claps and laughs]

LAURA: And so they – I was like go make a movie. So then really what you’re saying is these media, these shows that feature a weak father they’re trying to orphan us from it –

DAWNA: Absolutely.

LAURA: That there’s a good father. And you know I still say the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. And so when we’re watching television or film or listening to music that is undermining the family or authority. I know you have revelation about authority. I want to talk about that. You have just even in the spirit realm what does that mean to you when you hear the word authority? To some people it’s a bad word.  

DAWNA: Yeah.

LAURA: What do you think of when you think of authority?

DAWNA: Well I think – I mean I do come up from the place of you know bucking the system. You know I grew up with a – you know [thump on table sound] women you know should be strong. [thump on table sound]

LAURA: Right. [laughs]

DAWNA: And you don’t have to submit [thump on table sound] and you don’t have to do all that stuff. [thump on table sound] But I found that actually when you can – when you have someone that you actually can submit to you have greater authority.

LAURA: That’s beautiful.

LISA: Well because He would never give me any warning. He’s saying subtle? He would never give me any warnings. We would be travelling with all of our kids in a car. I would be pregnant. And then he would go okay, come in from the service and say hey, I told the pastor you’ll do a women’s meeting tomorrow morning. I was like what?

SID: [LAUGHS]

LISA: NO! I’m not doing a women’s meeting tomorrow morning. I don’t even have a message. Are you kidding? No. He’s, he’s making it sound way more gentle than it was. It was TER-RI-FYING! Terrifying to me! I’d be up all night panicking, like on the verge of throwing up, just in terror. And, and, and John would just kept saying to me, he said he kept saying you are not your own. You are bought with a price. There are women out there hurting. You do not have the right to be comfortable when so many people are uncomfortable. And I would get mad. I’d be like I am not a congregation. I am your one-eyed wife. You need to be nice to me. You need to understand that this is scary for me and he’d be like I don’t, I don’t believe it. You just need to do it! And you know I did it afraid. I did it afraid. And then I would see that when John had well-positioned me then the blessing of God was on there. And there are a lot of young girls whose husbands you know they don’t know how to position them. They don’t know how to make room for them and then there’s other ones that are very ambitious and their husbands have asked them not to do it and they’re doing it. So I was really blessed to have a husband that saw what I didn’t see in myself and positioned me to do it. But it was scary. I’m just going to say it was terrifying!

SID: Okay, John. Tell me God’s view of marriage. God’s purpose of marriage.

JOHN: God’s purpose for marriage is absolutely amazing. He says in Malachi that He seeks Godly offspring. I do believe He’s talking about physical children but I also believe there is another application of that. That nobody gets closer to you than your spouse and so naturally what’s going to happen is that spouse is going to reveal the impurities in your life and almost be like a refining agent that God uses to make you into an offspring who’s like Christ. So in other words when He saw marriages He saw the purpose of it is to refine so then that when we were one we can be far more productive, I believe ten times or more than if we were by ourselves. So in other words I could have had a ministry without Lisa. I could have affected people’s lives but I believe it would have been ten times or more less effective had I not been married to Lisa and sought and fought through the adversity to be one with her. The other thing is

SID: Excuse me. I have to interrupt you John, and I have to say ditto for me. The same is true. I could have had a ministry without my wife Joyce, but it would never have been what it is today. Go ahead.

SID: Hello! Sid Roth here. I have to tell you I am so excited about our new format Something More! Why? If you liked It’s Supernatural! television you’ll love Something More! JOHN: You get married, Sid!

LISA: That’s a first date with John Bevere! That’s right. (LAUGHING)

SID: Real, real quick, John. Tell me what happened to Lisa.

JOHN: Well Lisa when I laid eyes on her I had not gone out with a girl for a year and a half. And I told God, cause I had gotten saved in college, and I said I’m not going out with another girl However when I laid eyes on Lisa I said within myself that is the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on in my entire life. And I prayed. I said God, please let my wife look like that. So I started pursuing and when I started pursuing I realized she was an alcoholic. She was crazy wild. One guy said she was the wildest girl on campus so I kind of immediately lost interest. But then she came up to me and said I think my mom’s in a cult which her mom wasn’t. And I brought her to a Bible Study and she ended up getting saved that night, filled with the Holy Spirit and healed of that disease. And I was so in love with her. And the good news is she actually loved me and I am one happy man being married to Lisa Bevere!

SID: And according to my notes you’ve been married for 30 years. You have four sons and three grandchildren. Congratulations! But you know everyone knows about John and Lisa Bevere. You’re both best-selling authors. I mean just I don’t even know the number of books. I think I, maybe you’ve lost number that are in print from both of you. And when I heard how rough you two had it in your marriage in the early years I have to tell you I believe that this is going to give so much hope to people that are like Hollywood types. They go to church. They act like they’re happily married but their life is coming apart at the seams. And but tell me really in your heart of hearts, Lisa, why did you two publically expose the history of all the problems you two had?

LISA: Well I found that so many people, Sid, they feel isolated. They feel accused. They think nobody else is wrestling with anything. They think we are the only two people that have ever talked bad, wrestled with I mean seriously we like looked like WWF wrestling the first 4 years of our marriage before we had children.

SID: [LAUGHS]

LISA: And realized we needed to stop it. It was ridiculous. And but we just found out that if people actually find out when you’re honest that there’s hope. And so we’ve been married 33 years. First four years were ridiculously strifeful, wrestling, arguing, locking people out of the house, throwing plates. I mean that kind of stuff. And then year 4 through 8 we had to kind of live in the aftermath of that. And then in year 8 on we started to rise and build. And we really do not think that people should have to learn the hard way what we already learned the hard way. And most of the marriage stuff that we read they were pretty  amazing, healthy, normal people and John is that but I was not that so we were dysfunctional before it was popular.
